Cubik's is a user-friendly Rubik's cube app that offers multiple features:

  • Play with a 3D cube and solve it
  • Solve your own cube by filling the colors in a 3D model
  • Time your solves

This app is both Free and Open Source.

With 43,252,003,274,489,856,000 possible states of a 3x3x3 Rubik's cube, Cubik's can efficiently solve any scramble within a second. It utilizes two different solving methods:

  1. Advanced method (Kociemba's two-phase method) - This approach solves any scramble in an average of 21 moves, making it highly recommended for most users.
  2. Fridrich method (CFOP method) - This layer-by-layer method consists of four steps: Cross, F2L, OLL, and PLL. The solution is further divided into seven steps: Cross, four steps for every F2L pair, OLL, and PLL. The average solution length using this method is 70 moves.

You have the flexibility to choose either one of these solving methods to tackle your cube. Once you've made your selection, the app guides you through the solution step-by-step on the 3D model, allowing for easy follow-along.

Cubik's also features a timer that generates random scrambles and corresponding cube states, allowing you to time your solves.
